Mrs. Parveen Hafeez , Managing Director, Sunrise Hospital, Kochi.

Married at the age of 21, mother of three, managing 5 different companies… Mrs. Parveen is a source of energy for every woman out there.

VoW: What inspired you to choose a different path…?

Mrs. Parveen: I come from a business family and my family has been a great source of inspiration and support for me in life. After marriage I was not working for 3 years, but then I realized I should do something that I am good at and which gives me satisfaction. We had a surgical company previously that was running really well, we procured some of best equipments in market and provided the best service. The experience and knowledge I gained from that company and the support I received from my husband (Dr. Hafeez Rahman), lead to the launch of Sunrise Hospital. Management and administration is what I like doing and I knew which path to follow and had a fixed plan. Now we have 8 branches of Sunrise hospital around India and 5 companies all together working in different sectors.

VoW: what is so unique about Sunrise Hospital that makes it a preferred choice for patients?

Mrs. Parveen: We are specialized in Laparoscopic Surgical Procedures and Dr. Hafeez Rahman is one of the pioneers in this field. Sunrise Hospital is fortunate to have some of the best brains in this sector of medicine, who carry forward the vision of the hospital by serving patients in the best possible manner. Our expertise in Laparoscopic and endoscopic surgeries are at par with the industry standards.

VoW: How easy or difficult it is to manage such a large hospital and maintain its reputation all throughout?

Mrs. Parveen: Managing a hospital and ensuring that your patients get the best treatment and care, is a big responsibility in itself. We have a quality policy which is adhered to by everyone in the hospital. Training programs are conducted periodically in order to enhance the skill level of the employees and maintain the level of quality we envision. Understanding the issues and resolving them in the right way helps improve our ability to serve our clients better. We maintain a system of work in the hospital all throughout for the doctors as well as other staff, this makes management quite easy, to a certain extend…

VoW: Any message you would like to give to the upcoming entrepreneurs and youngsters?

Mrs. Parveen: One should have a strong desire and will to do a different thing. Sheer hard work and dedication will take you to the path of success. There will be lots of ‘NO’s from various sides, but you should have the determination and dedication to do what you like best and this will shut all mouths. Also make sure you have a predefined plan before you venture into something.
